Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNARD ANSELL (DOC) BIRBECK With deep sadness we announce the passing of our father and grandfather, Bernard (Doc). He was predeceased by his wife Gladys (nee Congdon) in 2005. Mourning his loss is daughter Donna May, her husband Geoffrey and their daughter Ashley, all of Calgary. Bernard was born in Boissevain, MB in 1919. He proudly served 19 years with the R.C.A.F. His second career was teaching. His passion was sports and he excelled in coaching softball, having four separate Midget teams in the 1970s and 1980s win Ontario provincial championships. He also enjoyed stamp collecting, horseshoes, curling, and bridge...he loved life. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home, Calgary, on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. If desired, memorial tributes may be made in Bernard's name directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 2nd Floor, 215 - 12 Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 1A2.
